Transcription

[?port], and comming some 18 leagues off Scilly was met with by a
Brest man of warr a frigot, which tooke her and her said lading
and was carrying the same for Breast, and in her way ran her
upon the Seames, and fearing shee would sinke, the company
of the frigot cutt her off from the frigot by which shee
was [?towed], and the company of the frigot that were put
aboard her and this deponent and such of the said shipp the
Maries company as were in her fearing her said sinking
betooke themselves to her boate for safeguard of their
lives and soe left the Mary adrift.
Abd afterwards as hee hath heard shee drove off to sea, and
was met with by a fflushinger and carried hence to
fflushing. And saith that when shee was soe abandoned
as aforesaid all her goods taken in at Malega as aforesaid
were aboard her savinge one [?peace] amd two barrells of
raisings which they of the frigot tooke from her. And
otherwise hee cannot depose.

Examined upon the foresaid allegation.

John keble of Shadwell in the County
of Middlesex mariner, one of the company
of the said shipp the dove, aged 25 yeares or
thereabouts sworne and examined as
aforesaid.

To the first article hee saith that hee this deponent was one of
the company of the said shipp the dove ever since the moneth
of July last to the time of her retourne from Newcastle the
last voyage which was about two monethes since, and
went the voyage in question in her the voyage before her said last voyage and tjereby well knoweth as
hee saith that shee came not aboard of or soe much as touched
any shipp, boate or vessell whatsoever from the time of her
departure from Gravesend to the time of her arrivall at
Newcastle the said voyage in question, which if shee had donne hee saith hee must needs
have knowne thereof being constantly aboard her, And otherwise
hee cannot depose, saving hee doth not calll to minde the day
of the moneth that the said shipp went through the Well/

To the second hee saith that about three monethes since this
deponent at Newcastle heard one mr Laurance an Ipswich master
