  • Insert immediately after the sentence or phrase you wish to annotate the following macro:<ref>This is the footnote text</ref>
  • Replace 'This is the footnote text' with the footnote you wish to add, using the format: first name, surname, title, (place of publication, date of publication), page or folio number
  • Save the page

Transcription

To the first osition hee answereth and
for his parte doeth not beleeve the
same to bee true in any parte.

To the second position hee answereth and
accepteth of the same soe farre as it maketh
for him and not otherwise and beleeveth
that in the yeare and monethes arlate
the five Barrills o Indicoe arrested
in this cause on the behalfe of this
Rendent were in the possession of the
arlate Martin Lister together with John
ffairefaz and humfrey Sidney all
factors of this Rendent and as his this
Rendents owne goods and for his owne
Account and that they were sent to them
by him this rendent under his owne [?note]
to bee disposed for his Account and for
his best benefitt and advantage And
hee beleeveth that the said Lister ffaire=
fax and Sidney or either of them
never were proprietors or owners of the
said Indico or had any right or power
to dispose of the same otherwise then for and
upon the Account and for the benefitt
and advantage of this Rendent And
otherwise for his parte hee doeth not
beleeve this position to bee true in any parte

To the third position hee answereth and
accepteth of the same soe farre forth as
it maketh for him and not otherwise
and hee beleeveth that the arlate Peter
Whiteinge in the yeare and monethes
arlate was Master of the shipp the Salva=
dore arlate And otherwise for his parte
hee doeth not beleeve the same to bee true
in any parte./
