1. XXX XXXch, who is ˹by the said losse˺ damnified (after the rate at which this deponent
2. sold the other bale) 150 Mil Res; (˹or thereabouts˺ And otherwise hee cannot depose
3. saving hee this deponent had a certificate from the customehouse by
4. command of the said Provadar, of all such goods as this deponent
5. dispatched thense, in which the said bale XX No.co is mentioned, nor did this
6. deponent ever receive the same.

13. of the said shipp áged 28 yeares or thereabouts
14. sworne before the right worshippfull William Clerke and
15. John Godolphin doctors of lawes Judges of the
16. high Court of the Admiraltie saith and deposeth
17. by vertue of his oath.

18. That at the time of the seizure of the said shipp the James at Lisbone
19. in the moneth of June 1650, all and singular the persons hereafter named
20. were mariners and of the companie of her and were by the officers of the
21. king of Portugall (who made the said seizure) turned out of her, and
22. imprisoned, and have lost their time ánd wages by the said seizure and
23. restraint from the second of June 1650 (the day of the said imprisonment and
24. seizure) for and during the respective monethes and dayes following videlicet
25. Thomas Jones the masters mate continued ánd was kept under the said
26. restraint from the said second of June till the beginning of january next
27. following, being seaven monethes. and lost his wages for all that time;
28. John Wood 6 monethes 16 dayes, Daniell Clarke 5 monethes 18 dayes
29. William Essex 5 monethes 22 dayes, John Humphrey 9 monethes 8
30. dayes, Beniamin downe 8 monethes 27 dayes, John Baack 8
31. monethes 27 dayes, and Edward Mare 7 monethes and one day. And
32. further that they were shipt and contracted with for wages that voyage
33. respectively as followeth, Thomas Jones at twenty dollars per moneth
34. John Wood ˹(this deponent)˺ at 2li 10s per month, Daniel Clarke at 1li 16s per moneth
35. William Essex at 1li 2s per month, John Humphrey at 1li 16s per moneth
36. Thomas Willie at 1li 4s per moneth, Richard Bell 1li 6s per moneth
37. Beniamin downe 1li 5d per moneth John Back 1li 2s per moneth
38. and Edward Mare 1li per moneth. Moreover that Thomas Jones
39. spent before his arivall in England ˹in his said XXXX XXXXXX˺ in necessary expences 25 dollars
