William White of Wapping in the parish of Saint Mary
Matsellon alias Whitechappell Shipp Chandler by trade
aged 28 yeares or thereabouts a wittnes sworne
and examined saith as followeth videlicet

To the 1. 2. and third articles hee saith that hee this deponent being then
servant to the arlate Valentine Elsing Shipp chandler well knoweth that
ine Mr fferne (who as hee sayd was husband to the Master and owners
of the shipp or Busse arlate called the Minories and imployed by them to buye
for the use of the sayd shipp such things as she then stood neede of for
the better and safer proceeding on her intended voyage) did in the
Moneth of August 1652 arlate buy of this deponents
Master the sayd Mr Elsing certaine goods as powder shott Match musketts
and other ammunition to the value of sixe pounds thirteene
shillings sixe pence sterling for the use of the sayd shipp or Busse
which goods were by this deponent and his precontest Thomas Muffett
in the sayd moneth of August delivered on board the sayd shipp
or Busse for the use of the sayd shipp to the Company of the sayd
shipp in the presence of the sayd fferne, who receaved them aboard for the
use of the sayd shipp, And saith the sayd goods at the tyme of their
delivery were well worth the summe predeposed and the like quantitie
of the like goods were then sold at that rate And saith
hee beleeveth the sayd shipp then stood neede of the sayd goods for her
necessary defence ad could not without hazard have proceeded on her
intended voyage without them And further to these articles hee cannot depose

To the 4th hee saith hee this deponent did by the Command of his sayd
Master demande of the sayd fferne (since the sayd goods delivered) the sayd
summe of 6 li - 13 s - 6 d for the sayd goods but saith hee deferred the payment of it, and the
same is still unpaid as this deponent beleeveth having seene his sayd masters
booke by which it appeareth to be still unpaid And saith hee referreth him
selfe to the Registrie of this Court And further hee cannot
depose./

To the 5th hee saith hee knoweth the sayd Elsing is damnified by the
non payment of the sayd money for the sayd goods in the imployment
hee might have made thereof in his trade, but to what value hee
knoweth not And further hee cannot depose./

To the last hee saith his foregoeing deposition is true./
