To the 4th hee referreth to his foregoeing deposition wherein hee hath
satisfied the most of the Contents thereof and for further answere saith hee tooke
charge of teh sayd shipp first at Marselles./
To the 5th hee saith hee beleeveth the sale of the sayd shipp to the Claymers
is reall and not in trust for any subiect of the ffrench KIng and further
saving his foregoeingd eposition hee cannot answere./
To the 6th hee saith the goods predeposed of was bought with money as hee
beleeveth for that hee sawe some money paid for the same but remembreth
not how much or to whome the same was paid and further saving his
foregoeing deposition hee cannot answere./
To the 7th hee saith hee did not see the Interrogate Joachim, Larence, David, Mathias
Hance Conrad Zollicoffer and John Scothering at or neere Marselles while
the shipp Switzer remayned there, and saith the goods predeposed of were bought
by the sayd Zollicoffers ffactors aforesayd John Lewis Zollicoffer Bartholomew
Zollicoffer Henry Zollicoffer and Bartholomew S[?tovinger] And the sayd henry
Zollicoffer came aboard the sayd shipp with the sayd goods
and further saving his foregoeing deposition to the 2: 3 and 4th
articles of the allegation hee cannot further answere./
To the 8th hee saith hee knoweth the Interrogate Symon Vroling only by correspon=
dence having receaved letters from him and saith hee knoweth the Interrogate Van Campen
and hath knowne him these nyne yeares last and saith hee is a hamburger
but soiourneth at Roane and somtymes at other places as
his occasions require and marke Peterson hee saith hee knoweth not And
further to this Interrogatorie hee cannot answere./
To the 9th Interrogatorie hee saith hee knoweth that those who caused the sayd
goods claymed to be laden, are ffactors to the producents, and therefore
beleeveth they have allwaies a considerable summe of theirs in their
hands,
And hee this rendent knoweth that hee
himselfe carried severall goods and merchandizes from hamburgh and some money from Allicant sent by the producents to
the Zollicoffers and the sayd Sccothering to their fore=
named ffactors at Marselles to the worth of about thirty thousand
dollers in the moneth of November last with the
proceeds whereof hee beleeveth they bought the goods now claymed
and further hee cannot answere./
To the 10th Interrogatorie hee saith hee verily beleeveth the goods claymed
are and still remayne the goods of the producents and are not by them
sold or transferred to any other person as hee verily beleeveth and
further hee cannot answere./
To the 11th hee saith hee beleeveth noe ffrench man or subiect of
the ffrench King hath any interest in the shipp of goods claymed And
further hee cannot answere./
