To the fourth he deposeth and saith that the sayd shipp the Sampson
sett sayle and departed from Caddiz (sic) with the sayd sylver aboard her
on or about the thrteenth day of October 1652 new stile, and about a moneth
after in her direct Course to Ostend was taken and surprized in the
English Channell by one of the shipps of this Commonwealth, and
brought into the River of Thames as is arlate. And saith that
the barrs of sylver arlate came by that meanes into the possession
of them that tooke her, the sayd barrs of sylver allegat being then all of them aboard the
shipp the Sampson, which this deponent having continued constantly
from the tyme of her departure from Caddiz to the tyme of her seizure
is well assured of. And otherwise he cannot depose.
To the fifth he saith that the sayd Lewis ffernandez Angell was and is [?the]
onely proprietor of the barrs of sylver arlate, and the same were really
and truly laden for his Accompt, and not for the Accompt of any [?subiect]
of the States of the united Provinces, the reason of which his knowledge
he hath formerly sett forth. And otherwise cannot depose.
To the sixth he saith and deposeth that the arlate Lewis ffernandez [?Angell]
was and is a Spaniard borne and a subiect of the King of Spayne [?and]
hath bene an Inhabitant of Caracas in the West Indies under the Jurisdiction of the sayd king of [?Spayne]
sixteene yeares now past as this deponent hath heard, and for eight
last past of this deponents knowledge. And otherwise he cannot depose
To the seventh he saith and referreth himselfe to his depositions aforesayd
which he saith were and are true. And otherwise he cannot depose.

To the first he saith that he as a Passenger came aboard the shipp Interrate at
Caddiz in October last past and was aboard her att the tyme of seizure
