aboard the saidd shipp Saint Peter, and one french Mariner who was hired to serve in the
said shipp in the roome of a dutch man that had deserted the same at Bourdeaux
and that the Saint Peter was about 2. leagues from Pontrieux the place of their [?XXX GUTTER]
discharge, when they first perceived the said man of warr give them Chase. And
further cannot depose./:-

To the 4th hee saith, That the said shipp at the time of the Chase interrate was
a league and a half from the Rocks interrate, and saith that coming very neere[?the GUTTER]
Island aforesaid shee was towed ashoare by the said french men in the 2. shallops
predeposed and not by their owne boate or any of theire Companie, nor did any of the
said shipps Companie call for help to defend her And otherwise negatively referring
to his foregoeing deposition:-/

To the 5th negatively, saving his foregoeing deposition to which hee referreth./

To the 6th hee saith, the Pylott interrate, was, so farr as this deponent ever heard to
have landed and staied at Pontrieux, if the said shipp Saint Peter and her lading
had arrived, and saieth hee hath often seen and observed that Merchants or ffactors
who lade shipps from port in ffrance, doe usually hire and provide
experienced mariners for the secure conduct f their goods from place to place, especially
upon the coast of Brettanie which in manie places is very rocky dangerous
and insecure without a Pylot well experienced therein. And further otherwise
then negatively hee cannot depose./

To the 7th hee saith, That the shott interrate being three, as is predeposed, were
made whilest the Saint Peter lat fastned to the Rocks interrate. And further
cannot depose./

To the 8th hee saith, That the said Pylott and frenchmen who came aboard
made the shott predeposed in this deponents sight and observation./

To the 9th hee saith, That hee saw no resistance made against the said ffrench
mens entrie into the said shipp, And that the Companie interrate did not
assist the said ffrenchmen in any manner whatsoever to come aboard the
said shipp, neither had they need of any such assistance./

To the 10th negatively:-

To the 11th hee saith, That during the fight interrate this endent and the
Master and whole shipps Companie interrate were and are remained
above the deck in the forepart of the said shipp Saint Peter, and that
this rendent in the presence and hearing of the rest of the said shipps
Companie heard the said Master Command dissuade and entreate the
said french Pylot and other ffrenchmen from shooting, sayeing [?shoote GUTTER]
not, shoote not, for man and severall times togeather./

To the 12th hee saith hee referreth himselfe to his foregoing deposition to the [?8th GUTTER]
article of the allegation in this Cause, And further or otherwise hee cannot
depose as to the particular valewes of the goods interrate or otherwise
