To the first and second negatively, And further saving his foregoeing depositions cannot depose
To the third hee saith that hee this rendent well knew the interrate
Gobsalo da Gamboa for about 8. yeares before his death, and saith the said
Gonsalo was a native of Lisbone in Portugall, and a Subject of that Crowne, and
during the time of this deponents knowledge of him liked and resided at Lisbone
and Cape de Verde where hee was Governour for the king of Portugall
To the 4th and 5th hee saith hee knoweth nothing thereof.
To the 6th hee referreth himselfe to his foregoeing deposition. And further cannot depose,
saving that as this rendent firmely beleeveth the sugars predeposed were the
proceed of the said lading of Negroes, and saving that this deponent was
present and saw some monies paid by the said Carvaille to the said Contractor for foure chests of
sugar predeposed./
To the 9th hee saith the goods predeposed were laden by the said John de Carvaillo
a Portugueze for the accompt aforesaid And doeth not know nor beleeve any
thing to the contrarie./
To the 8th hee saith, That upon the lading of the said goods, the said John de
Carvaillo did acquaint this rendent, that the same were so laden for and
upon the accompt and adventure of the said Gonsalo da Gamboa, And
otherwise saving his foregoeing deposition hee saith hee cannot depose
To the 9th hee saith, That hee this rendent is a Native of Lisbone in
Portugall where his settled habitation is, And otherwise negatively to
every part thereof.
To the 10th and 11 hee saith hee knoweth nothing thereof.
To the 12th hee referreth himselfe to his foreging deposition And further
cannot depose./

on the behalfe of the said John Lyne
Diego Fernandez Blanco of Lisbone in
Portugall Merchant aged 44. yeares or
thereabouts a Wittnesse sworne and examined./
To the first Article of the said Allegation hee saith and deposeth, That
in or about the moneth of May June or July in the yeare 1650. arlate
this deponent being at the Bahia in Brazile, and there then happening
a generall imbargo and seizure of all English shipps and goods
