nyne and twentith of the sayd moneth of december 1654 the sayd shipp being
then [?thwart] Cadiz an other violent storme happened which continued
about the space of eight howers with such force and furie that the sayd
shipp Mary and Anne was not able to brace any sayle nor durst beare any
for feare of foundering in the sea and the shipps company seeing their perill were minded to have gheaved some goods over board for the better preservation of the sayd shipp and the sayd shipp by reason of the violence
of the sayd storme sprange a leake and receaved in much water, but
the winde turning contrary to the point it blew in the tempest aforesayd the
