in the said shipp for the accompt of particular Merchants not freighters
And that for and upon the resaon aforesaid. And saith That the Merchants
goods so laden for the supplying of the defect of full affreightment as aforesaid
being afterwards discharged at Porta fferrara the fraight due for the
same was by the said Merchants in their order payd unto this deponent
in the name of the said George hughes, And further, referring himsef to
his deposition to the next precedent article hee saith hee cannot further depose./
To the 16th hee saith, That upon the unladeing and discharging of the
goods wares and Merchandize of the said Alderman ffredericj
Chowne and Companie at Porta fferrara, the same were there delivered
into a place called the Lazaretto, where all goods dischardged at that
Port are usually putt, the same being a place of noted dafety and securitie
expressely thereunto designed by the Order of the duke of fflorence, and
carefully kept, so that no goods putt in there can be prloyned imbeazeled
or stole away, And saith the said goods so delivered did remaine in the
said place untill this deponent by order of the said George hughes delivered
the same in or about September 1653: to George Norleigh and Robert
Constable aforesaid being thereunto authorized by the said ffrederick and
Companie. The premisses hee knoweth being an Eyewittnes of the said
unlading of the said goods and of their placeing and putting in the Lazaretto afore-
said, and of their delivery to the said factors in the manner and at the time
predeposed. And further hee cannot depose./
To the 17th hee saith and deposeth, That hee this deponent being in the whole
Voyage in question Purser of and belonging to the said shipp the Thomas
Bonadventure, well knoweth, That the Galls and Cotton woolls
laden aboard the said shipp at Scanderoone and Ciprus were not
delivered by weight unto the said George hughes, but saith that the
same were delivered and received aboard by the number of baggs, and
so were entred into this deponents booke, and bills of lading accordingly firmed
for the same by the said George hughes or this deponent in his name, without
taking in any the least notice of the weight thereof. And so much hee
saith hee verily beleeveth that the said ffrederick and Companie doe very
well know by the said bills of lading and by advise from their said ffactors
ffowke and Chewne who gave order for the lading of the said goods. And

To the 18th hee saith, That in or about the moneth of September 1653

Companie the number of fower hundred eighty and nine sacks of
