Transcription
To the third, fourth, fifth and sixth articles he deposeth
and saith that the shipp arlate was upon and according unto the bargaine of
sale of her delivered by the said Governor of New Sally
unto the producent, and that the producent was in quiet
and peaceable possession of her (as he this deponent conceiveth
he ought haveing bought and payd for her) from the
month of November 1654 untill her being arrested by
Alderman ffrederick, And he alsoe deposeth that the
producent did (being the lawfull Owner and Proprietor
of the shipp arlate) at his owne proper cost and charges
buy the teckle and furniture now to her belonging of
this deponents knowledge, and that the sayd producent
did alsoe constitute and appointe his this deponents precontest
Philip Luxon master of her for the voyage homewards
which by Gods blessing prosperously succeeded after a long
captivity of this deponent and many others that came
home in the sayd shipp, And further he saith he cannot
depose.
To the seaventh article he deposeth and saith that the arlate
Ashwyn the producent being the Owner and Proprietor
of the shipp arlate, since the time he bought her, he
knweth not who showld have had any losse of her
but himselfe, had she miscarryed And further he
cannot depose.
To the eighth article he saith that all the says shipps
Company had bin slaves in Sally, and that their
redemption was obteyned by the meanes of the sayd
Ashwyn and others imployed therein by the Lord Protector
And further he cannot depose.
To the last he saith his former deposition iis true.
To the Interrogatoryes. [CENTRE HEADING]
To the first Interrogatory he answereth negatively to all.
To the second Interrogatory he answereth that the Dolphin interrate
was taken by a vessell belonging unto New Sally whereof
the Governor was a part Owner And further he
knoweth not to answeare./
To the third Interrogatory he answereth that the shipp dolphin
interrate was brought into Sally in October 1654 and
that at her taking she was floating upon the high
and open sea And further (referring himselfe to
his former deposition) he cannot answeare.
To the fourth Interrogatory he answereth that the interrate
Anthony Streete was at Sally and a Captive then after
the shipp Dolphin was brought in thither, and he
