William Bassett, Edmund Halley and William Thomas were part-owners of three quarters parts of the two ships and Simon Messenger, John Tarleton and Robert Browning were part-owners of the other quarter of the two ships.[4] The precise share that Simon Messenger owned of the two ships was one thirty-second.[5]
