Haveing been Large in y:e Generall Papps w:ch goos by M:r Gerald Aungier & theire Coppyes by a ???Cossud I shall not need to make any repetition of any thing there in (sic: two words) Conteyned, hopeing that they may bee satisfactory to you, as to y:e manifestation of our Endevo:es though not to yo:r expectation, as to y:e Leopards disposall here, w:ch would much have Contented mee to have bein an instrum:t of haveing taken off y:e Trouble w:ch probabily this ship may give you by her Comeing Towards you.
I shall now acquaint you in Breife because much writeing dooth very much prejudice my health (which I hope in God to recover here) That M:r Andrewes hath written soo effectually to y:e ?Contradores here, y:t had not I dissuaded them, they weare resolved to have sent him some ?incommondas this yeare, but haveing ?soo (Or, 'too') farr prevailed w:th them they are resolved to send all they intend for Europe unto yo:r selfe as I question not but they doe by this Conveyance acquaint you as much themselves, they haveing tould mee as much; heerein I hope my endeavours will Ballance y:e Just success I found in y:e Leopards ffreighting & y:t you will bee pleased to esteeme mee among those y:t highly honor you, & y:t I may not still remayne buryed in oblivion when opportunityes may present for my future advancem:t for hither ?too by fate, & enemyes I have gone soo much retrograde y:t had not God armed mee w:th an extraordinary measure of patience it were enough to make mee become despXXXXX
