4. Exámined upon the foresaid allegation on the
5. behalfe of the said Askettle and others.

7. Richard Roch of the parish of Saint Trinitie in
8. the Minories London citizen and Merchant tailor
9. of London, aged 60 yeeres or thereabouts sworne
10. and exámined.
11. To the first article hee saith that the time arlate the corporation
12. for the poor of London were owners of the Minories Busse arlate
13. and of alsoe ˹part owners˺ of another vessell at the same time called the Poores
14. Relief, which vessell called the Poores Relief was imployed by
15. them and company upon a fishing designe, but the certaine
16. times of such her imployment hee knoweth not, And saith the
17. arlate Richard ffearnes ˹as this deponent hee heard˺ was a part owner in particular of the
18. Poores Relief and not as one of the said corporation, And otherwise
19. hee cannot depose for that hee this deponent albeit hee belongs
20. to the said corporation, yet hee tooke noe ˹particular˺ notice or account of their
21. shipping, but was and is only imployed as a steward for the
22. imploying of the poore people in their worke, and doth not know
23. that the said ffearnes had any such office as or imployment as
24. Husband of the said corporation.
25. To the second hee saith hee knoweth not nor can depose ought
26. to the contents thereof.
27. To the third hee saith that after the death of the arlate Captaine
28. ffearnes severall persons (but who they were or whether any of the
29. parties agent were any of them or not hee knoweth not,
30. in as much as hee doth not know any of them) applied themselves
31. to ˹some of˺ the Governours (sic) of the said corporation pretending themselves
32. to be creditors to the said vessell ˹the Minories Busse˺ for goods and materialls which
33. they said they had delivered to the use of the Minories said Busse,
34. but the said Governours would not at all take notice of any such
35. pretence or debt ....... claimed by the said persons, but wholly
36. disowned the same in this deponents presence and hearing.
37. And otherwise hee cannot depose.
38. To the fourth hee cannot depose, saying hee knoweth not ought
39. thereof, nor that hee as hee saith ever ˹saw˺ ....... the said vessell the
40. Minories Busse till shee was ....................... unserviceable
41. to the said company, ˹and under water˺ which was in or about three yeares since.
