1. knoweth that before the sayd shipp the Irish Merchant her retourne towards
2. London the sayd Lopez was soe well recovered of his hurt that hee might
3. have retourned in her to London if hee had soe intended to doe, And further
4. hee cannot answere./
5. To the 7th hee saith hee was not present at the buying and contracting for any of
6. the goods Interrogate And further saving his foregoeing deposition hee cannot
7. answere/
8. To the 8th hee saith that at the tyme the Irish Merchant was at Teneriff and
9. before and since hee beleeveth and during all the tyme of the now warrs betwixt
10. England and Spaine ˹hee beleeveth˺ there were divers English Merchants and ffactors in
11. Teneriff who did and doe there trade and send goods for their owne Accompts
12. to England, And further saving his foregoeing deposition hee cannot answere/
13. To the 9th hee saith that hee this deponent at his last being in Teneriff
14. in May last did colour divers goods soe to keep f
15. which hee brought
16. from England under the name of a dutch man, to save the for his this
17. deponents more sXXXX tradeing there, (the dutch being in amity with
18. the Spaniards) and the better to save them from confiscation as the
19. goods of Englishmen, and beleeveth that others doe the like and
20. further hee cannot answere./
21. To the 10th hee saith hee is the person alleadged in the sayd second
22. article and to whome the sayd Lopez did declare as is predeposed that the
23. goods arlate were for Accompt of Spaniards, and saith the sayd Lopez
24. spake the words in this deponents forefoeing deposition to the allegation
25. specified, or others to the like effect, in the Moneth of May last, and
26. in and about the Port of Oratava, but what XXX day of the moneth or
27. weeke or what tyme of the say or night or who were else were present
28. beside him this deponent hee remembreth not, but beleeveth there were
29. others beside this deponent present And further saving his foregoeing
30. deposition hee cannot answere/
31. To the 11th hee saith hee hath the Interrogate knowne the Interrogate
32. Antonio da Ponta and Ignatias Landiola for these three or fower
33. yeares last past or thereabouts and hath seene them severall tymes
34. within the sayd tyme in the Cittie of London where hee hath alsoe often
35. seene the sayd Lopez whome hee hath alsoe knowne for these 3 yeares last
36. and saith hee hath seene the sayd Lopez severall tymes in May last
37. at in the Island of Teneriff And further saving his foregoeing
38. deposition hee cannot answere/
39. To the 12th hee saith hee did not see any letters delivered to the
40. Interrogate Antonio ffernandez, nor did view or open them before
41. their delivery, and therefore knoweth not what language they were in,
42. nor how many there were of them, nor their dates, And further
43. cannot answere/
44. To the 13th Interrogatorie hee saith hee was not present at the tyme of
45. findeing the papers Interrogate but saith the sayd papers being
46. in all fower letters XXXX all written in the Spanish language, and
47. a bill of ladeing in the dutch language, were delivered to this deponent
