pumpes which were three, and well observing that the sayd Seaverne
Woods and the rest of the Adventures Company did their endeavour
to prevent the goods in the sayd shipp from damage as much
as they could And further to these articles hee cannot depose./

To 5th hee cannot depose, saving gee saith hee heard the
Captaine of the Charles aforesayd affirme and saye that the arlate
husbands did before him and others confesse and acknowledge tha
rthe leake which the sayd shipp the hopefull Adventure soe haf
was an old leake, and that hee knew well enough of it before
And further to this article hee cannot depose./

To the Interrogatories./ [CENTRE HEADING]

To the first hee saith hee was none of the Company of the
Mariners of the shipp the hopefull Adventure./

To the 2: 3: 4th 5th and 6th Interrogatories for that hee was none of the Company
of the hopefull Adventure nor hath heard or knoweth ought touching the
matters Interrate hee cannot answere to those Interrogatories otherwise
then before hee hath deposed

To the 7th hee saith hee did see the leake Interrogate and saith it was soe
great that untill the same was stopped the Company of the shipp the

hopefull Adventure although they had helpe of some of the Company of the
Charles could not keepe the sayd shipp Adventure free of water And
further hee cannot answere./

To the 8th hee saith hee hath gone to sea these twelve yeares last
past and saith hee mever observed that Mariners used to pumpe
or sounde the pumpe every fower howers if the
shipp laye in harboard though shee bee takeing in
goods, but saith it is usuall at sea, to pumpe once in fower
howers, whether the shipp have little or much water in her,
And further hee cannot answere./

To the 9th saving his foregoeing deposition hee cannot
answere to this Interrogatorie.

To 10th hee saith hee cannot answere not knowing what to beleeve
in the case Interrogate being none of the Adventures Company/

To 11th hee cannot answere not knowing nor having heard anything
touching the value of the damage in question./

To an Interrogatorie in 2d loco numbred the 12th/ [CENTRE HEADING]

To the sayd Interrogatorie hee saith hee being none of the Company of the
Adventure knoweth nothing nor hath heard anything touching the matter
Interrogate and therefore cannot answere thereto./
