Transcription

Maior of that place as in the said schedule is expressed. To which
schedule hee referreth himselfe, And further cannot depose:

To the Crosse Interrogatories./ [CENTRE HEADING]

To the first hee referreth himselfe to his foregeoing deposition, and to the
schedule before mentioned, And further otherwise then negatively
hee cannot depose./

To the second hee saith the interrate John Swan is a Sussex man
borne neere Shoram living in the parish of Saint Olaves Southwarke,
and hath been knowne to this rendent about 20. yeares last past

To the third hee saith, That hee this rendent is an Englishman borne
at horsey downe in the parish of Saint Olaves Southwarke, and hath
lived in that and Saint Mary Magdalens parish from his infancy
And further otherwise then negatively deposeth not./

To the 4th hee saith hee was not present nor saw the payment of the
money or delivery of the shipp in Controversy by the interrate John Swan
but saith that hee this rendent received abot 80 li for the reparation
of the said shipp from the said John Swan, And further saving his
foregoeing deposition, and the declaration in the said schedule expressed to
which hee referreth himsel hee saith hee cannot depose:-/

To the 5th hee saith, That the interrate John Swan hath kept
possession of the shipp interrate ever since this deponent first knew
her till the time of her seizure by a Brest man of warr which
happened about 14. moneths since, as this rendent hath understood
And further cannot answer/

To the 6th hee saith, the said shipp at the time of this rendents
inspection of her at Plimouth had the same gunns decks
and Masts which shee had at her departing from England when
this rendent had repaired her as aaforesaid, but that shee was
and is much deteriorated in her hull and rigging, And further
hee cannot depose:-/

To the 7th hee saith the said shipp named the John and Raphenas
and is a Vessell of about 80. Tunns, and saith hee last saw her in the possession of the said John Swan
at the time of her departure from the River of Thames after hee had
repaired her as predeposed./:-

To the 8th hee saith, That hee referreth himself to his declaration iin
the aforesaid schedule expressed, which hee hereby declareth to be
true by Vertue of his Oath, And further cannot depose
