  • Go into edit mode
  • Insert immediately after the sentence or phrase you wish to annotate the following macro:<ref>This is the footnote text</ref>
  • Replace 'This is the footnote text' with the footnote you wish to add, using the format: first name, surname, title, (place of publication, date of publication), page or folio number
  • Save the page

the arlate Andrewes and another mer

parte hee doeth not beleeve the said position
to bee true in any parte thereof/

To the fifth pretensed position hee answerereth
and beleeveth that after the putteing
of the foresaid 195 Tonnes of Salte
onboard the Mathewe arlate at Penbeefe
arlate the arlate shipp set saile from
thence with the same and here delive
red the same to this Rendent and Com=
pany ut credit in good Condition And
otherwise for his parte hee doeth not beleeve
the same to bee true in any parte thereof

To the sixth pretensed position hee answe=
reth and referreth himselfe to the charter
party and his former Answers And other
wise hee doeth not beleeve the said position
to bee true in any parte thereof/

To the seaventh pretensed position hee answe=
reth and referreth himselfe to the charter
party And otherwise for his parte hee doeth

To the eight pretensed position hee answereth
and beleeveth that the arlate Grigs the
voyadge in question did expend and lay
out for portcharges the summe of Three
pounds and not above ut credit And
