Walter Bludworth will

PROB 11/382 Lloyd 1-45 Will of Walter Bludworth, Merchant of Aleppo 08 February 1686

Editorial history

29/11/11, CSG: Posted transcription to wiki

Abstract & context

Walter Bludworth, merchant of Aleppo, was either the son or grandson of Sir Thomas Bludworth, London merchant and SVJS subscriber. Walter Bludworth made his will in Aleppo in February 1674/75, as he prepared to travel to Jerusalem, but the will was not proved until 1686.

Sir Thomas Bludworth made his own will in 1680, and makes no reference to a Walter Bludworth. So either Walter was dead, or alternatively, Walter was the son of Sir Thomas Bludworth [junior]. Either way, Walter describes his father as "S:r Thomas Bludworth Knight and Merchant in the City of London"
