by some of the shipps of this Commonwealth, and brought into the
River of Thames, the said severall pieces of eight, being then as hee
firmely beleeveth all aboard the said shipps respectively. And
otherwise cannot depose.
To the 7th hee saith his foregoing deposition is true.
To the Crosse Interrogatories [CENTRE HEADING]
To the first negatively.
To the second hee saith hee hath knowne the interrate John Smeesters
for about 6. yeares last past, and the interrate Gerard Ryper for
about 4 yeares by Correspondency, and the interrate John Lamotte for
about 4 yeares in person and by Correspondency.
To the third hee saith the said Gerard Ryper and John Lamotte
were and are ffactors to the said producent, but not hee to them, And
otherwise saving his foregoing deposition hee cannot depose.
To the 4th hee saith the said John Smeesters the producent is an
Antwerper borne where hee hath lived with his family in the
broadstreet so long as this deponent hath knowne him, the saith Gerard
Ryper also an Antwerper borne, and hath lived in Cadiz ever since this
deponent hath knowne him, and the said John Lamotte is a Native
of Brudges, and hath also lived at Antwerp and Cadiz ever since this
deponent knew him, Gerard Ryper being a married man and the said
Lamotte a Batchelor.
To the 5th hee cannot depose otherwise then hee hath formerly deposed.
To the 6th negatively, and oherwise saving his foregoing deposition hee said
hee cannot depose.
To the 7th hee saith by vertue of his oath, That for the reasons by him
predeposed hee knoweth the bills of lading interrate to be reall and
true and made according to the Contents of the same. And otherwise
cannot depose.
To the 8th, 9. and 10th hee saith hee cannot depose, saving his foregoing deposition.
