Transcription

before the lading of the sylver now Claymed acquaint this deponent that there
were severall parcells of sylver to be laden in and sent to him from Spaine by
his said factors in returne of his goods sent unto them as aforesaid, and that
hee had given them order to that purpose. And otherwise cannot depose

To the 14th hee saith, That in the yeare 1651. last past the said producent
at severall times and by severall shipps, videlicet the shipps of Peter Clunckart
John de Vos, Derrick Heyman, Peter de Keyser, and Joachim Cordes all
Masters of shipps of Hamburgh and Ostend did from Ostend send as aforesaid
severall great quantities of fflanders wares and merchandizes to his said factors
in Spaine, to the valew of 20000 li flemmish, as this deponent verily beleeveth

To the 15. negatively:-

To the 16. hee saith hee is Hamburgher by birth, and hath his dwelling
place at Antwerp as aforesaid. And otherwise negatively:-

To the 17. hee knoweth nothing thereof otherwise then as aforesaid, not
being in the voyage in question:/

To the 18. 19. and 20. hee saith, hee knoweth nothing thereof.

To the 21. hee saith hee hath Credibly heard that 2000 li flemmish is
insured upon the moneys and silver now Claymed, by one Albert
Balthazar Beerents a Burgher and Merchant of Hamburg. And
further cannot depose./.

To the 22th negatively:-

To the 23. hee referreth himselfe to his foregoeing deposition./

To the 24. hee saith hee beleeveth the 9. bills of lading interrate were
sent by the producent to Mr Rishoult (sic) aforesaid by the Usuall poast. And
further knoweth not./

To the 25. 26. and 27. hee saith hee cannot depose:-/

To the 28: hee saith, That hee verily beleeveth, that the person designed
by the two letters interrate was and is one Pedro Lois, whom this
deponent well knoweth to be a factor at Cadiz to and for the said producent
and a Hamburgher borne./

To the Interrogatories in the 2. place

This rendent saith, That it is prohibited by the Lawes of Spaine to
transport money plate or bullion from thence without Leave obtained
but that it is notwithstanding usually and ordinarily done by meanes of
some small Composition with the Officers thereunto appointed, and that
without any losse of propriety, and without any Confiscation
whatsoever.
