Alexander to which the said Sprittiman? ??? said, that if
smeaming? the Master and Company of the
Alexander ??? any thing more to say to hen? wee have to
you. But your English boate aboard it? or to that effect. and hereupon
the Alep? and. ?? boate rame? to the Starr?. and went with the
Master into the Cabbin and in the meane time this Deponant
who then beloyed? to, and wat on board the Golden Starr
had some disronrse??? with the men which brought the said Mate?
abord at they were in their boate and this Depoant asking?
them when to they were, some of them said they were of
the sea, others of them said they came from London and were bound for Jamaica
and they said they had ??? to ??? all Dutch ships to see
if they had any Spanish Goods aboard, and phseutly??? after
the mate went onboard the Alexander, and so soone as hee
was come onboard, they firee one Gunne? at the Starr, and
then lowered their English mlient???, and hoysled??? upp the
Portugall mlient?, and then fired a whole broadside at and
upon the said Ship Golden Starr, and a Ketch which belonged
unto and was in Company of the Alexander whereof one
harsnof? was ??? fired some Gunnes? atoupon? the Golden
Starr, ??? thereby did much damage to the said Ships
hull sailes and rigging and her Company ??? lives were in greate danger?
and saith that ??? ??? Company of the Golden Starr did give

and saith that after the Alexanders Company had fired their?
broad side at the Golden Starr, the Master or some of her Company

and the other three were put into the great Cabbin, and a
guard set over them soe that this? Deponant could not heare what
discourse passed between the said Spittyman and the
Captaine of the Alexander and saith that presently
after the said Sprittyman was come onbaord the Alexander
the Captaine of the Alexander sent ??? boate, and alsoe? the
Golden Starre boate, (which then lay by the Alexander) which about foure
