1. River of Thames, and that the said seaven packs being ordered laden XXX GUTTER
2. to be restored to the owners, There came Captaine Brock one of the prize
3. officers and to take the said seaven packs out of the said shipp the hare in
4. the feild lying before Black wall, but hee could finde but sixe of them
5. nore were there any more to be found after search and rummageing of
6. the whole shipp, soe that one of the said packs was and is XXXX GUTTER
7. lost and gonne, while the same were under the power of this Court
8. the officers of this Commonwealth. All which hee knoweth being
9. present and helping to search and rummage for the said goods and
10. seeing the said six packs found and that the said seaventh was and is
11. wholly missing and lost, And otherwise cannot depose not
12. knowing ought of the contents of the said packs. And ˹saving hee˺ saith that
13. before the bringing in of the said shipp to Portsmouth the man of warrs
14. company broke opon the hatches of the hare in the feild, and after the
15. bringing into XX Portsmouth, and to the LXXX of her taking out the
16. said six packs (which was about foure monethes since) there went
17. prize officers and Customes house officers aboard her, who had the
18. command of her.

27. To the first, second and third Interrogatories hee saith and deposeth that
28. about the beginning of May 1655 new stile there were laden
29. aboard the shipp the hare in the ffeild (Jan kein Commander)

39. said goods are said to be laden for account and adventure of the
40. Sieurs Robert and hendrick Mayanburgh, merchants dwelling
41. at Amsterdam. And saith the said shipp being in her course
42. from haver da Grasse for the Baye of Cadiz, theXXX was
43. taken by two men of warr of this Commonwealth on
44. or about the fifteenth of May 1655 New Style, and brought
45. into England, and that from that time the said shipp and goods were
46. continually under command of the officers of ths Commonwealth
47. and that the said goods were aboard her at the time of the said
