To the 5th 6th and 7th Interrogatories hee saith the sayd shipp the King david was seized
in the Barbadoes in the Roade there in the manner following videlicet this deponent
was with his sayd shipp upon the open Sea neere the Barbadoes, and bound for Martinica
but knew not well where hee was and with all wanted fresh water and
being within sight of land sent out a boate and some of his company in it to discover what the coast
was they were upon and to get fresh water and the sayd boats company when
they came to shoare (as they told this deponent) did discover that the same
was the Baarbadoes and that the bay where their sayd boate came into was Saint Austins bay and did enquire of some of the Inhabitants
or others there whether they might put in for fresh water or not
and were by them informed that they might
freely put in and take fresh water there, and presently after hee saith
that hee this deponent conceiving upon that information that hee
might safely goe into the Roade and cast Anchor and supply himselfe with
fresh water, did dor that cause and noe other goe into the Roade of the Barbadoes
where hee had noe sooner cast Anchor but divers of the Inhabitants there
came aboard the King david in severall Shallopps and in violent manner
seized upon her and her ladeing and still deteyne the same and tooke this deponent and most of
his company on shoare, and beate and abused them on board before they
carried them on shoare, and put this deponent in prison for many dayes
by which meanes all the company of the sayd shipp were scattered
and dispersed hee knoweth not whither
all though the provost marshall of the Barbadoes comming in
one of the sayd shallopps on board promised this deponent that hee
should quietly be supplyed with fresh water and permitted to goe
whether hee would And further to these Interrogatories hee cannot answere/

To the first article of the sayd allegation hee saith hee cannot depose
being none of the Company of the hopefull Adventure nor knowing ought
in what condition shee was before her taking in her homeward ladeing./
