Ambrose denison William Ballett and Company against Keech}
Master of the vessell the Minories and against haydon and others

Rp.

Examined upon a libell given in on the behalfe of the sayd
Ambrose denison and William Ballett and Company/

Rp. 3us.

John Cowes of Wapping in the County of Middlesex
and parish of Saint Mary Matsellon alias Whitechappell
Scrivener aged 28 yeares or thereabouts a wittness
sworne and examined saith and deposeth as followeth
videlicet

To the first article hee saith the arlate Keech was in the yeare 1653 arlate
and moneths therein concurring commonly accompted to be Master of the
arlate shipp the Minories and did of this deponents knowledge exercise the
Command of her as master of her And further saving his subsequent
deposition hee cannot depose./

To the 2: and 3 articles hee saith that in or about the moneths of August and
September 1653 the arlate henry Askettle did cause to be delivered
unto the arlate Keeche and one Richard ffernes (who was
reputed a Part Owner and husband of the sayd vessell or shipp the Minories)
and for the use of the sayd shipp divers goods, videlicet pitch, tarr, roapes, deales and
other goods amounting in all to the value of eight pounds nynteene shillings
two pence sterling money, which they the sayd Keeche and ffernes bought of
the sayd Ashkettle for the use of the sayd shipp This hee the better knoweth
for that hee this deponent did enter the particulers thereof into the booke of the sayd
Ashkettle as the same was upon severall dayes fetcht away by
the sayd ffernes and Keeche or others by their order, and alsoe for that hee
did write out of the sayd booke a bill of all the particulers soe delivered
amounting to the summe aforesayd, and delivered the same to the sayd ffernes
who acknowledged before this deponent that hee had receaved all
the particulers therein specified for the use of the sayd shipp,
and acknowledged the sayd bill
to be true as to the particulers and values therein conteyned, And further to
these articles hee cannot depose./

To the 4th hee saith hee referreth him selfe to the Registrie of this court
And further hee cannot depose

To the 5th hee saith hee cannot depose

To the last hee saith his foregoeing deposition is true./
