IN THE NAME OF GOD AMEN I Samuell Dashwood of Stogumber being sicke of body but of good and perfect memory thanks be given to God Doe constitute & ordayne this my last will & Testament in maner & forme as followeth

IMPRIMIS I bequeath my Soule into y:e hands of Almighty God in whome I hope to have salvacion And my body to Christian buryall.

ITEM I give to y:e poore of y:e parish of Stogumber Twenty shillings

ITEM I give to y:e parish church of Stogumber Three shillings & fower pence

ITEM I give to my sonne Robert Dashwood Twenty shillings And to Samuell Dashwood my godsonne sonne of y:e said Robert Twenty shillings.

ITEM I give unto my sonne John Dashwood y:e some of Tenn pounds

ITEM I give unto my sonne Richard Dashwood y:e some of Twenty shillings

ITEM I give unto Elizabeth Knight my daughter Twenty shillings

ITEM I give unto my daughter Ellen Dashwood One hundred pounds to be payd unto her within one month after my decease And alsoeI leave y:e some of ffiftie pounds in y:e hands of my Executrix for y:e better prferment of y:e said Ellen to be payd her in three months after y:e day of her marriage if shee be guided by advise & consent of her mother & overseers of this my last will & Testament of in twoe yeares after my decease & not otherwise

ITEM I give to my sonne George Dashwood my Lease of a peece of ground called by y:e name of Brech (?) together withall y:e title & interest that I have to y:e same grounds Alsoe I give to y:e said George y:e some of Ten pounds to be payd unto him within twoe yeares after my decease provided always my will & intent is that y:e said George Dashwood my sonne shall suffer his mother my now wife to enioy y:e said grounds to pasture from yeare to yeare during her naturall life And for y:e better security of her enjoying y:e same ground my will is that George my sonne when hee shall accomplish y:e age of Twentie one yeares that he give bond unto Henry Sweeting & Richard Sweeting whom I ordayne Overseers in trust to this my last will & Testament in y:e some of one hundred pounds w:ch ife hee shall refuse to doe being thereunto required Then my will is that y.e Tenn pounds specified which I have given him shall not be payd him by my Executrix

ITEM I give unto my sonne Samuell Dashwood one hundred pounds to be payd him within Three months after hee shall accomplish y:e full & whole terme of yeeres wherein he is bound an Apprentice to ffrancis Dashwood his brother for y:e terme of eight yeeres whereof one yeare is ended at Midsomer Anno 1638 But ife y:e said Samuell my sonne shall happen to depart this life before his tyme be expired with his brother Then my will & meaneing is that y:e one hundred pounds shalbe given as followeth Twenty pounds to my sonne Richard Dashwood And Twentie pounds to my sonne William Dashwood, Tenn pounds to my sonne ffrancis Dashwood & Tenn pounds to my sonne John Dashwood And the other forty pounds to remayne to my Executrix

ITEM I give to all my grandchildren to every of them twoe shillings six pence

ITEM I give unto Henry Dashwood sonne of my brother Henry Dashwood some of five shillings

ITEM I give unto William Cornwales (?) my Apprentice one yewe sheepe (?) to be kept for him during his Apprentice but not y:e proffitt of y.e said yewe

ITEM I give unto my sonne ffrancis Dashwood y:e some of Twenty shillings The rest of my goods not given & bequeathed my debts & Legacies payd & funerall discharged I give & bequeath to Elizabeth my wife whome I make my whole Executrix of this my last will & Testament
