  • Replace 'This is the footnote text' with the footnote you wish to add, using the format: first name, surname, title, (place of publication, date of publication), page or folio number
  • Save the page

(whome this deponent knewe not) came to drincke at this deponents house beinge at the
signe of the Swann in ffeversham, and whilest she was there, a Cradle was brought
into this deponents house (beinge (as this deponent beleiveth) the Cradle which the sayd woeman had askked the sayd
Rye for as aforesayd) and that woeman and the man that was with her did take some
things out of the sayd Cradle but what they tooke out of it, or what things she
lefte in it this deponent knoweth not, for that she did pnly passe to and
from the roome where they were, as shee had occasion but did not observe what was
in the sayd Cradle or what was taken out of it. And this she affirmeth uppon her
oath to be true Et alr nescit deponere/

Edwardus Watson de ffeversham in Comitatu Janty nauta aetats
35 annorum aut circiter testis in hac parte productus iuratus et
examinatus, dicit quoad partem producen per 20 annos etaps bene
novit sed partes con quas producits non novit ut dicit.

Ad primum secundum et reliquos arlos allegaconis ex parte dru Rye in hac parte
dat et oblat dicit et deponit That about twelve monethes since (to his nowe
nowe best remembrance) this depponent havinge heard that the arlate Alexander
Rye was sued and was in trouble about some goods which were packt up in a
Cradle which was laden abord his hoye a little before that tyme, and meetinge with one Abraham Neve
since deceased and one Abraham hunt at ffeversham at severall tymes the sayd hunt of his owne
accorde tould him that he the sayd hunt and the sayd Neve at the request of the
arlate Edmonds his wife, did without the privitye or knowledge of the sayd Rye
fetch the sayd Cradle out of the sayd hoye and caryed it to one hogbens house
in ffeversham. being an Alehouse, and there the sayd Edwards his wife tooke out
of it what she pleased and then sent the sayd Cradle backe agayne abord the
sayd
