Biographical synthesis
Edmund Bushnell (b. ca. 1630; d. ?). Shipwright.
Self-described mariner and by implication a carpenter on ships. Bushnell states in his 1657 Admiralty Court deposition "This deponent having as a mariner sailed and served in and aboard the said shipp two severall voiages, whereof the voiage arlate was one".[1]
Resident in 1656 in Deptford in the county of Kent.
Evidence from High Court of Admiralty
Twenty-six year old Edmund Bushnell deposed on April 18th 1656 in the High Court of Admiralty. He was examined on an allegation on behalf of John Haselgrave and Company in thr case of "John Haselgrave and Companie owners of the Levant friggatt against Henry Chowne Bray Chowne and Francis Fooke".[2]
