Biographical synthesis
Roger Greenfield (b. ca. 1631; d. ?). Blacksmith.
Resident in 1655 in parish of Stepney "where hee hath lived these 16 yeares last past".[1]
Walter Gough's residence in Stepney appears in the 1666 hearth tax returns for Nighingall Lane, Stepney, with an entry of three hearths.[2]
Evidence from High Court of Admiralty
Twenty-four year old Roger Greenfield deposed on August 3st 1655 in the High Court of Admiralty.[3] He was examined in the cause of "Walter Gough against the ship called the Hope of London and William Greene and Henry Coxe intervening for their interest".[4]
