Transcription

said Cloppenburgh (whose handwriting hee very well knoweth, and which he
beleeveth is true and reall but he saith he did not see him signe the same
And otherwise answeareth negatively and knoweth not./.

To the 8th he saith he cannot depose saveing he did see the
bills of lading of one and the same tenor for the said Tobaccoes

To the 9th he saith That saveing his foregoeing depositions hee cannot depose

To the 10th hee saith That hee this deponent is a Genoese by birth and hath lived
at Cadiz in Spaine for the space of 15. or 16 yeares last past And saith hee
hath no interest in the said Tobacco neither shall gett by the [?restoration] thereof nor
lose if the same should be condemned And otherwise cannot depose./

To the 11th he saith the said shipp the Salvador was to dischardge her lading
att Ostend according to the bills of lading which this deponent hath seene, And further he
cannot depose/

To the 12. 13. and 14 hee cannot depose saveing as aforesaid

To the 15th he saith he knoweth not of any Insurance that was made upon the said
shipp or Goods otherwise cannot depose

To the 16th he cannot depose saying he beleeveth the Master of the said shipp
the Salvadore did not take any money upp of the ffrench or dutch upon Bottomry
the voyage in question./

To the 17th hee saith hee cannot depose saveing his foregoeing depositions to which
hee referreth himselfe/

To the 18 hee saith hee cannot depose./

To the 19 hee saith That the said Tobaccoes were laden on board the Salvadore
in the Bay of Cadiz under the Comand of the Castle there in the usuall place of
lading, and there cleered and left the Coquetts with the Officers there, and had
dischardges as he beleeveth for the same And otherwise he cannot depose/

To the 20th he saith That after the said Cloppenburgh had firmed three bills of
lading for the said Tobaccoes he did see one of the bills in his the said Cloppen berges
hand and the other two in the hands of William Crombeen aforesaid And otherwise cannot
as he saith depose./

To the 21th hee saith That he knoweth that the said Bill of lading annexed to the
said Allegation was so subscribed and firmed by the said Cloppenbergh, and verely
beleeveth it to be the same, ffor that he hath the like for his owne proper Goods
which were seised in the Salvadore, And otherwise hee cannot depose./

To the 22th hee saith That William Crombeen did bring the said bill of Lading soe
signed and firmed as aforesaid into this Court and beleeveth the same was not in Holland
or sent from thence And otherwise saveing his foregoeing depositions he saith hee
cannot depose/
