On the behalfe of William Scapes of}
Rotterdam merchant touching the shipp William and Thomas}
William Scapes of Rotterdam in holland Merchant
aged 45 yeares or thereabouts sworne before the right
Worshipfull William Clarke doctor of lawes one of the Judges
of the high Court of the Admiralti[?a] saith and deposeth
Rp.
That the shipp the William and Thomas of the port of Rotterdam aforesaid
(Robert Williams master) was in or about the moneth of June last set out
from Rotterdam aforesaid in her ballast by him this deponent and company
her owners to goe to Norway, there to take in her lading of deales
lathes and other goods and thence to goe and transport the same and make
sale thereof at Newcastle, and with the proceede thereof to be laden with
coales, and soe to retourne directly for Rotterdam for the finishing of her
voyage. Which hee knoweth and is able to depose being one of the owners
aforesaid, and present at Rotterdam when shee was soe set out, whence
hee this deponent wrote letters to Newcastle of the said intent and designe
of her voyage.
