To the 6th hee saith hee knoweth nothing thereof saving what
hee hath predeposed to which hee referreth/:-

The same day, Examined upon the said Allegation

Richard Beard of the parish of Saint Mary Att hill
in London Wine-Cooper aged 46 yeares or thereabouts
sworne and examined saith as followeth videlicet:/

To the 11. 12. and 13.th hee saith, That hee this examinate being a Wine
Cooper by profession was employed by the producent Captaine Isaac
Philips upon the arrivall of the shipp the Saint Paul allate at this Port
of London, for the takeing out and disposing of her Lading of wines into
Cellars and warehouses, and saith that at the time of the arrivall of
the said shipp and goods, this deponent by order of the said producent sold
some of the said wines for twenty pounds a tunn, And saith that
shortly after the said shipp and goods arrivall, and that the said goods were
disposed of into warehouses, the Commissioners for Prize goods or some
by their order caused Lockes to be putt upon the said Cellars or Warehouses
which continued upon their doores for about 6. weekes before they
were taken of and the said producent permitted to dispose of his said
goods, And saith That in that time of the said goods detention
by the said Commissioners they were so much perished and deteriorated
by meanes of such their detention. and the heat of the weather, That
they were not worth nor could be sold or disposed of for more then
4. or 5. li a tunne or thereabouts, though the Excise was then paid
for the same, besides other expences and charges. The premisses this deponent saith
hee well knoweth to bee true, for that hee was as aforesaid
particularly employed together with his precontest John Goodman
by the said producent in and about the ordering and disposing of
the said goods, both at their first arrivall, and after they were
discharged from the said detention:- And further cannot depose

To the Crosse Interrogatories:/ [CENTRE HEADING]

To the first Interrogatorie hee saith hee cometh to declare the trueth of
his knowledge in this Cause at the instance of Captaie Isaac
Phillips and otherwise negatively/

To the second third, fourth and 5th Interrogatories, hee saith hee hath
not deposed to the articles interrate, And further otherwise then
negatively hee cannot depose:-/

To the 6th hee saith, That hee cannot depose further or other
wise then as is by him predeposed, saving that hee well remembreth
severall adresses were made to the Commissioners for Prize goods or
(their
