To the 12:th and 13th hee saith, That in or about the moneths of June or July in the yeare
1652. the said John Bollard in the shipp Saint Albertus (Joachim Cordes Master)
sent from Ostend to his ffactor Gerrard Ryper at Cadiz, a Case with Spanish
Laces, manufactures of fflanders with order to make the returne thereof to him in
Silver, which hee the said ffactor received, and accordingly laded, and acquainted the
producent by letter as aforesaid, that hee had laden the silver predeposed as the
proceed of the said Laces, which Case of laces this deponent alsoe saith was marked
with the marke SP. being the same marke the baggs of silver now Claymed were
marked withall, as appeareth by the bill of lading predeposed. And further hee
cannot depose.

To the 22:th and 23th hee saith hee cannot depose, saving hee hath heard That Merchants
driveing the trade for silver to the places interrate must deale very privately and
secretly therein, but for his part hath never heard that any moneys have been hindred
to be transported thence, or confiscate for want of Lycense; or that the persons ladeing
the same without License doe losse their propriety therein.

To the 24th hee saith, hee is very well acquainted with the interrate John Bollart
his booke of Accompts, and by perusing the same hath well understood and perceived
and by his owne experience knowne, that before the warr betwixt the United
Netherlands and this Commonwealth, the said producent hath had and kept
Correspondency, and had his Agents at Middleborough and Amsterdam, but that
since the said warr begann, the said Correspondency hath totally Ceased,
