IN THE NAME OF GOD AMEN the first daye of August Anno Dmm. one thousand six hundred thirtyfyve, and in the eleaventh yeare of the raigne of our Soveraigne Lord Charles by the grace of God King of England Scotland ffrance and Ireland defender of the faith I Andrew Elam cittizen and Grocer of London being at this psent sick in body but of pfect memory (thanks be given to God thereof doe make and ordayne my last will and Testament in manner followeing that is to saye...

My estate be divided into three equal partes

One equall third parte I doe give and bequeath unto my wellbeloved wife Elizabeth Elam

The lease of my dwelling house in London and all my estate tearme of yeares and interest therein

ITEM I doe give unto my said wyfeall my plate lynnen brass pewter bedding and other householdstuffe whatsoever (all my printed bookes and East India ?ymplemetes excepted)

ITEM I doe give unto my said wyfe all her rings chaynes of gould and pearle and Jewells whatsoever

ITEM in further expression of my love and affecton unto my said wyfe my will and mynde is that my said wyfe shall have and enioy unto her owne plesure all such moneys as shee have in her private purse or hath dispose of to any pson or psons in trust for her owne private use, and that shee shall not be accompted unto my estate for the same

ITEM I doe give unto my Grandchilde ffrances harman one hundred pounds of lawfull money of England to be payed unto her by my executrix upon shee shall accomplish and come unto the full age of twentie and one yeares or to be married which shall first happen

ITEM I doe give towards the enlargement of the Chancell of the parish Church of ?Hornby in the Countie of Midds twnety pounds of lawfull money of England

ITEM I doe give and bequeath unto my said fower children Andrew Elam Anne Bludworth Mary Young and Sarah Elam

All the rest and residue of my goods chattells and psonall estate:- whatsoever not before or hereafter in this my will given limmitted or disposed of equally amongst them to be devided part and part like And my will is that yf my said sonne Andrew Elam be departed this life or shall depart this life before my death that then his part and porcon shalbe equally devided amongst my said three daughters Anne Mary and Sara part and part like

ITEM I doe nominate ordayne and appoint my said wife Elizabeth Elam sole executrix of this my last will and Testament And I doe desire my loveing frend M:r Sammuell Armitage to be ayding and assisting unto her in the execuion thereof

Lastly I doe revoke all former wills and doe declare this to be my last will and testament

In witness whereof I have hereunto sett my hande and seale the daye and yeare above written
