Transcription

To the 32th hee saith that by the common Course amongst merchants
noe factor can give order in his principalls businesse, without order
first obtained from his principall. and that noe master of a shipp
is to observe abny factors directions, conbtrary to his freighters Commission
And otherwise hee cannot depose.

To the 35th hee saith that the shipp the John and Conrard ar;ate
arived in ther Port of London from Genbuoa in or about the moneth
of June 1653, And otherwise hee cannot depose.

To the 36 hee saith that hee beleeveth that if the Cottons
and Galls of Alderman ffrederick and others the parties producent
had bin at Genoa, they might have bin laden upon the John and
Conrard for London at a reasonable rate fore freight,
And otherwise hee cannot depose.

To the 37th hee saith that in or about the moneth of March
and Aprill 1653 Cotton woolls of Cyprus were here sold at and
after the rate of 15 d per pound, and thgis deponent was
interessed in some that were here sold after that rate in that time.
And otherwise hee cannot depose.

To the 42 hee cannot depose, the Pramiums being alterable
and often differeing according to the shipp.

To the 43 hee saith that the said Alderman ffrederick and
others the producents are merchants, and as hee beleeveth greate
traders to sea and to ports beyond the seas. And this deponent
doth beleeve that they are great sufferers in not
having their goods in due time. And otherwise hee cannot depose
saving that if the principall cost was 13978 li, the interest
at 6 li per cent, is 790 li per annum./

To the Interrogatories. [XCENTRE HEADING]

To the second hee saith hee hath not seene any goods weighed
at either of the places interrogated, And saith that hee beleeveth
that cotton woolls and galls will weigh the same weight after
the time interrogated than they did at the first if none by stolen
or imbeazeld. And otherwise hee cannot depose

To the third hee saith hee knoweth all the persons interrogated
by sight, and that as hee beleeveth the ffowkes interrogated are
brothers of ffrancis ffowke one of the parties in this sute, And
otherwise hee cannot depose.

To the fifth hee saith hee holdeth it a greate deale of prudence
and honestie in any master of a shipp to follow his
freighters order. And otherwise hee cannot depose.

To the seaventh hee saith that all factors and masters are to
followe their principalls and freighters orders both
for lading and unlading of shipps. And otherwise hee cannot
depose.
