C6/218/65 f. 2

Abstract

Samuell Sowton provides a schedule of debts due from Thomas Cutler, but does not make clear which have been settled. His schedule covers the period 1672 to 1676. Goods mentioned in the schedule are primarily tar and pitch, but also sugar and tobacco. Many of the ships referred to are on the London/Stockholm route. However, tar and pitch are exported to Venice.

In contrast, Thomas Cutler provides greater detail from his account books, including both pro and contra entries. This does not of course mean that they are any more accurate. See C6/218/65 f. 4 for Thomas Cutler's schedule.
