1. this deponents judgement tight and sufficient therefore hee could not
2. depose otherwise then before hee hath deposed well knowing it to be the
3. truth and saith if the truth of the matter had bin otherwise hee would
4. not have sxx ˹in manner or aforesayd˺ depose to please any person what soever nor ˹for˺ any similar
5. and what soever./

9. brought in the 17th of June./
10. To the first Interrogatorie hee saith hee was Gunner of the shipp the king
11. of Poland ˹for part of˺ the voyage in question ˹videlicet from his greing from plymouth continual Richard till rest˺ and saith hee hath received of mr
12. Buiston twenty pounds in part of his wages due for the sayd voyage
13. and knoweth not at present what is behinde, and saith hee received is
14. thereof about 3 weekes agoe and about eight dayes since the other five pounds
15. and to the rest of the interrogatorries hee answereth negatively./
16. To the 2 hee saith as is predeposed that in his this deponents judgement the
17. shipp Interrogatorrie the tyme the Interrogate was a tight strong and sufficient
18. shipp and hath, heard nothing now knoweth any thing to the effect
19. Interrogate and therefore cannot answere thereto otherwise than negatively
20. for his part./
21. To the 3 hee saith hee beleeveth all shipps that goe to sea are subiect to
22. stormes, and saith the stormes predeposed of receave of from sufficient
23. to have dammified and hurt and very tight shipp ˹and as good a shipp as their their XXXX XXXX˺ and saith the sayd
24. shipp the King of Poland was ˹a tight and strong shipp˺ such in his this deponents judgement and
25. that it is yet mainfest that the rudder was not any way rotten when
26. it brake as aforesayd, it appearing still to bee firme, and saith
27. there came other shipps in Company with the king of Poland from
28. Virginia XXXX and were parted from her in that storme but hom they
29. X stayed or what damage was done to them hee knoweth not but hath
30. heard that one of them xx (the masters name whereof was MasterCary and did
31. come into Plymouth much damnified both in shipp and goods and had
32. as hee hath heard betweene three and fower foote water in holes
33. which hee receaved by reason of the sayd storme and saith hee
34. beleeveth the shipp ˹King of Poland˺ was tight before the sayd storme and further hee
35. saving his foregoeing deposition hee hee cannot answere./
36. To the 4th hee saith hee hath deposed the truth in his foregoeing
37. deposition and cannot nor will depose otherwise whether who soever
38. will take it all nor ˹will˺ for any simister or base ead what soever

45. king of Poland the voyager in Question and saith hee hath about a
46. fortnight or three weekes ˹shee˺ receaved of master Poniston tenn pounds right of
47. his wages for the sayd voyage and what is behinde hee knoweth not
48. having cast up the whole and knoweth not wherefore the rest is not paid
49. And to the rest of the Interrogatorie hee answereth negatively./
