Transcription

unto him this Rendent by the sayd Arangasea about
a fortnight (to his best remembrance) before the
newes came that the interrate shipp the hare in the feild
was seizd by the shipps of this Commonwealth And
further he cannot answeare./

To the tenth Interrogatory he answereth that he doth not know
nor ever heard or understood any thing to the contrary
wherby he showld not beleive in his conscience that the
Linnens interrate are the proper and onely goods of
Bartholomew de Apatris, and not of
any fenchman or subiect to the french king And
further he cannot answeare./

To the eleaventh Interrogatory he answereth that by the advice
unto him the Rendent communicated by the aforenamed
Arang[?uren] above twelvemoneth since that the interrate
Lopez de Apatris had sent unto them the interrate
Bertrand Baud and Mathew de La ffitt 800 weight
of Redd wooll, and by orther following advices imparted
unto this Rendent by the sayd Arang[?uren, he did well
know that they the said de Baud and de La ffitt had goods
and effects of his the said Lopez de Apatris in their hands
to a good value, And further he cannot answeare./

To the twelth Interrogatory he answereth that he doth not know
nor ever heard of any Insuranace made upon the Linnens
interrate And further he cannot answeare./

To the thirteenth Interrogatory he answereth that he never saw the
Linnens interrate, and therfor knoweth no,
what Country=growth or manufacture they bee./

To the fourteenth Interrogatory he answereth that the Letter of
advice communicated unto him this Rendent by the said
Arang[?uren] concerning his the sayd Lopez de Apatris
sending unto the sayd de Baud and de La fitte the woolls
aforementioned, did mention in what shipp they were
laden, and from what Port she came (which as he beleiveth
was Cadiz) and alsoe the Masters name of the shipp
but he saith he doth not now certainely remember the name of either
shipp, Master or Port, And otherwise he saith he
knoweth not to answeare./

To the fifteenth Interrogatory he answereth that he never saw
the Letters of Advice interrate but in the hands of the
said Aranga[?ren] who did impart and communicate them
aswell to this Rendent as to Mr Nicholas [?Blagne]
And further he cannot answeare./

To the sixteenth Interrogatory he answereth that he never saw
the bales of Linnen interrate But he saith that the
Accompt of him predeposed of conteyneth and declareth the
values and prices of every bale, and their qualityes, and
how much evert bale conteyned, and he answereth
by vertue of his oath that he never heard of any thing
made up or conteyned in the said bales saving Linnen
And further he cannot answeare.
