To the 11th negatively.
To the 12th he saith he signed to a Charter party for all the said salt
the Counter part whereof he delivered att Portsmouth as aforesayd.
To the 13th he saith he had neyther Pursers nor Boatswaynes books
aboard him.
Ti the 14th he saith he was examined since the seizure att Portsmouth
and that the paper now showne him, underwritten with his name
doth conteyne his such examination, and he now acknowledgeth
the sayd subscription to be his handwriting and the sayd examination
to conteyne the truth and to be so had and done as therein is conteyned.
And further deposeth not, saving that he saith the ffrench
Charter party to the sayd paper, or schedule annexed. now likewise
showne him was and is the Charter party above mentioned and that
the same was on board him att the sayd tyme of seizure.

Examined upon an allegation on the behalfe of
the sayd ffrancis Tryon.

Back church merchant aged twenty five
yeares or thereabouts, a witnes sworne and
examined saith and deposeth as followeth videlicet
To the first Article of the sayd allegation This deponent saith That in
the yares 1651. 1652. 1653. and monethes therein respectively
concurring, and allso in the monethes of March Aprill May June
July August September October and November and Current of this
present yeares 1654. the arlate Isaac and John Nysse and James
Moline were and att this present are the factors Agents and Correspondents
of the sayd ffrancis Tryon att Legorne, and one ffrancis Mottett the tyme
aforesayd was and is the factor Agent and Correspondent of the sayd
ffrancis Tryon att Marsellis in ffrance, and the arlate Lewis
Jordaine the tyme aforesayd was and att the present is the ffactor Agent
or Correspondent of the sayd ffrancis Tryon att Rohan in ffrance
and for and as such the sayd persons respectively were and are comonly
accounted and taken, which he knoweth and deposeth for that all the
sayd time and longer he hath bene as now he is the Apprentice of
the sayd ffrancis Tryon, and hath bene privy to the sending of
letters and Instructions from the producent to the sayd persons, many of
