A busines of Examination of wittnesses upon}
Interrogatories administred on the part and behalfe of}
Jeronimo [?Snitgar] daniell Brands and Company}
subiects of the ffree state of hamburgh touching}
a shipp called the Kinge david of hamburgh}
and her ladeing (Errick Wrode Master)}
ffrancklin}

Examined upon the sayd Interrogatories given
in on the behalfe of the sayd daniell Brands
Jeronimo Snitgar and Company./

late Master of the shipp the King david of hamburgh
aged thirty five yeares or thereabouts a wittnes sworne
and examined saith and deposeth as followeth videlicet./

To the first Interrogatorie hee saith hee well knoweth the shipp the King david Interrate
for these three or 5 yeares last past and knoweth for that tyme shee hath belonged
to the Port of hamburgh, and hee this deponent hath bin Master of her for betwixt two
and three yeares last past and was Master of her at the tyme of her seizure and
saith hee well knoweth that the sayd Jeronimo Snitgar daniell Brandes
Barent Muller John Rookes and hee this deponent all Inhabitants of
hamburgh and subiects of the ffree state thereof were and are the true and lawfull
Owners of the sayd shipp her tackle and furniture at her seizure and longe before, and soe still are, this
hee knoweth for that hee sawe the sayd Snitgar Brandes Muller and Rookes pay
their parts of the money for buying the same, and paid his owne part himselfe
to hance Brandon of hamburgh who sold the same to them And further to this
Interrogatorie hee cannot depose/

To the 2 hee saith the last port in Europe the sayd shipp went from (the
voyage Interrate) was hamburgh and saith the ladeing of the sayd shipp when shee was seized
which consisted in brande wine beefe and porke and beere and linnen and
shooes and stockins and hatts and Canvas cloathes such as are usuually worne at
Martinica in the West Indies by french men were [?XXX GUTTER]
belonging to and laded for the Accompt of the sayd Snitgar Brandes and [?MathXX GUTTER]
saveing that this deponent had a smale quantitie of all
the foremnamed Commodities for his owne Accompt and saving that harman
Gurson of hamburgh had on board the sayd shipp at her seizure for his Accompte a smale
quantitie of every the commodities afore named and alsoe some leather
to make bootes of and saith all the Laders were hamburghers and subiects of
that state And saith the ladeing seized aboard the sayd shipp was as hee
beleeveth worth about tenn thousand Rix dollars
and cost soe much in hamburgh as hee beleeveth And further to this
Interrogatorie hee cannot answere./

To the 3 hee saith that the shipp Interrogate and her ladeing were bound
(the voyage in question) for Martinica in the West Indies and such other french
plantations as are neere thereabouts and there and at those places to dischardge
and unlade her sayd ladeing in case shee had not bin seized And further
to this Interrogatorie hee cannot answere

To the 4th hee saith that the shipp Interrogate did not trade in the
Barbadoes or any English Plantation in America the voyage in
question wherein shee was seized And further saving his subsequent
deposition hee cannot answere./
