  • Insert immediately after the sentence or phrase you wish to annotate the following macro:<ref>This is the footnote text</ref>
  • Replace 'This is the footnote text' with the footnote you wish to add, using the format: first name, surname, title, (place of publication, date of publication), page or folio number
  • Save the page

To the first pretended position
they and every of them answer that
for theire parts they doe not beleeve
the said position to bee true in any
parte thereof/

To the second pretensed position they
and every of them answer that
they referre themselves to the charter
party made by these respondents
for the said voyadge and remaininf
in the Registrye of this Courte
which they beleeve to bee signed and
sealed with the hands and seales of
these respondents And otherwise for
theire parts they nor any of them
doe not beleeve the said position to
bee true in any parte thereof/

To the Third pretended position they
and every of them answer and referre
themselves to the foresaid charter party
and beleeve that the shipp the Comfort
arlate did departe and set saile from
this porte of London to Virginia
with divers goods and merchandizes
in her belonging to these Rendents
and in her course thither these re=
spondents beleeve within five or sixe
dayes after her departure out of the
