To the second and third Interrogatoryes he answereth that hee
referreth himselfe to his former deposition, and further
he knoweth not to answeare./

Upon the sayd allegation given and
admitted ib Crump's behalfe.

Thomas knight servant to William Crumpe
the party in this cause, whose servant he hath bin
these 10 monthes past, aged about sixteene yeares
a wittnes sworne and examined he deposeth as
followeth
To the first article of the sayd allegation he saith That the
arlate shipp the Stambaleene had goods aboard her at
the time the casualty of fire happened in her to the valew
of 20000 li (as he beleiveth) And further he cannot depose.
To the second and third articles he deposeth and saith that
of his this deponents certaine knowledge, being by and hearing
it, when the shipp arlate lay neere Ratcliffe the sayd
William Crumpe the Master of her having occasion to
goe on shoare did publiquely speake to all the shipps
Company who were upon the Deck, and bad them have
a care of the sayd shipp in his absence, And further he
cannot depose.
To the fourth article he deposeth and saith that he this deponent
was aboard the said shipp the Stambaleene when his
precontest Samuel Samboe returned aboard her from the
producent, and in the producents name did speake unto John
Turpin the cheife mate of thee said shipp and bad him to
have a care of their fire meaning the fire of the said
shipp And further he cannot depose.
To the fifth, sixth seaventh and eighth articles of the said
allegation he deposeth and saith that at the time the fire
burst out in the articulate shipp there were of all the sayd
shipps Company on board her the arlate Peter [?Shartin]
Philip Burt and Kohn Brett, and alsoe this deponent his
precontest Samuel Samboe and Jeffrey Mosely and noe more and none of the
sayd shipps Company that were gone on shoare did during the
fire come aboard the said shipp, and that by the said fire
the shipp and her rigging and goods to a great value were
consumed and perished And further he cannot depose.
To the Interrogatories. [CENTRE HEADING]
To the first Interrogatory he answereth that he well knoweth
all the persons named in this Interrogatory, that they were Mariners
in the said shipp the voyage interrate that the sayd shipp
delivered her outward bound Lading at Smirna, and there tooke in
her homeward bound lLading, and arrived home in this River
of Thames about the beginning of December last, and that
the said shipp was in her voyage homeward twice
taken by the ffrench and the Mariners of her extreamly
plundered, and that therby they endured much hardshipp
And further he cannot answeare
