they had beene formerly there and
knewe very well howe to carrt a
shipp into the said ports and would
undertake the same and that they
would bee very observant carefull and
sedulous in the said voyadge upon which
considerations and not otherwise this
Rendent did promise to pay unto them
the severall and respective monethly
wages schedulate but this Rendent
beleeveth they were soe farre from
performinge either theire undertakeings
or ordinary duties or deserveing theire
wages schedulate that they did by theire
negligence unskillfulnes and carelesnes
doe the Owners much disservice and
farre more preiudice then forty
times theire wages come to as hee
beleeveth And whereas hee the said
Chapman pretended such knowledge
in the ports of Treppany and Gallipola
aforesaid and his skill to bringe a
shippe into the same which was a prin=
cipall cause that made this Rendent con
descend to allowe him such wages when the
said shipp came before Treppany and
might have gonne in within the soace of
Twoe houres the place being neere 4 miles
bredth to goe in the said Chapman pre
tended there was noe goeing in there
but caused the said shipp to goe about
the Ilands that lay neare Ten leagues
off to looke a place to gett in by which
