by the yeare to be paid Quarterly for theire maintenance till theire respective porcons shall be paid unto them I give unto my deare wife both myCoaches and my ffower Coach horses and ffower other of my horses to be chosen by her after my sonn John shall first have chosen and excepted one I give to her the moyety or one half of all my Plate wheresoever the same is And over and above the same I give to her and her  assignes forever All the Goods Plate and furniture now being in the Chamber of ?Wroxall where I did usually lodg and in the Closett within the said Chamber My Mind and Will also is that shee shall have and enioy to her owne use forever all her wearing apparrell Jewells and ?ornaments and all the ?dairy of Cowes which I have in Bedfordshire and Warwickshire and all the growing Rents which will be due at Michaelmas next ensuing out of any the Lands by mee setled in Jointure upon her I give also to  my said wife the use of all my household Goods which I have at Wroxall afoesaid for and during the terme of her naturall life if shee so long continue sole and unmarried  After her decease or marriage I give the same to my sonn John Burgoyne if he shall be then living otherwise to such person or persons to whome the Inheritance of my house in Wroxall shall descend  And whereas I am informed that some of my Ancestors have heretoforegiven or designed to give the summe of Twenty Pounds to the poore of the Parish of Wroxall of which I have noe assurance yet however that theire charitable intentions may not be frustrate I doe give in liew and discharge of the said Twenty Pounds the summe of Thirty Pounds To be paid to the Churchwardens or overseers of the Poore of the said Parish of Wroxall within One yeare after my decease to the end and intent that with the interest thereof poore children there may be from time to time placed out as Apprentices as often as sufficient shall be raised for that purpose And in case the Legacyes and yearely maintenance before menconed to be given to my children respectively be not duely paid My mind and Will is that each of them shall have power to distreine for the arrerages of the same upon any my lands in Sutton purchased lately of certaine Copyholders there and upon my Lands and Tenements in Wroxall which shall or may come to him my said sonn John Burgoyne or his heires or assignes in present and after the decease of my wife And the distresses to keepe and deteine untill they shall be respectively satisffyed theire said portions and all the arreares thereof and also the  respective arrears of theire said yearely  maintenance together with interest for the forbearance thereof  I doe also  furtherdeclare my will to be thatmy wife shallhave to her owne use and free disposall to  be chosen by her ffower of my Bedds with the funiture there to belonging whereof Three to be chosen by her and the hangings in the Chamberover the hall at Wroxall and half the Pewter in Wroxall house as also the little redd Trunck marked A:B: 1661 and contentsin it now being in the Closettwithin my Chamber at Sutton in which I usually XXXX  And whereas have in this my will given her the growing Rents which will be due at Michaelmasnext outof her jointure Lands in Wroxall My meaning and Willis that shee shall have ad receive not only those Rents but also the Rents which will be due at Michas (sic) aforesaid out of all and every the  ffarmes Messuages lands & Tenements which I have in Wroxall whatsoever

IN THE NAME OF GOD AMEN I S:r Roger Burgoyne of ?Sutton in the County of Bedford Knight and Baronett being sick and weake in Body but of good disposing mind and memory Thanks be to God therefore doe make and ordeine this my last Will and Testament as followeth

FFIRST I bequeath my Soule to God my Creator trusting through the meritts of Jesus Christ to receive pardon of all my sinnes and a blessed Inherittance amongst his Elect

And for the disposing of that Estate which God of his Goodnes hath lent mee my mind and will is as

Followeth whereas by one deed Indented made or menconed to be made the ffirst day of June In the Sixteenth yeare of the Raigne of our now soveraigne Lord King Charles the second betweene mee the said S:r Roger Burgoyne and Dame Anne my wife of the one part and S:r John Verney of Middle Cleydon in the County of Bucks Knight and Baronett S:r William ?Aysrough of XXXXXooby in the County of York Knight William Denton of XXXX ?Garden in the County of Midd Doctor in Phisick Henry ?Xaman of Cambridg Doctor in Phisick Robert Tirrell of the Parish of S:t Martins in the feilds in the said County of Midd Esquire Thomas ?Parrott of ?Wotton in the County of Bedford Gent and Stephen Xxindrop of Sutton aforesaid Gent of the other part And by a ffine XXXX levyed betweene the said partyes in forme of Law divers Mannors Messuages Lands and Tenements ?more settled and conveyed upon and unto the said Thomas Parrott and Stephen ??Windrell and theire heires to the uses intents and purposes and under the trusts and confidence in the said Indentures particularly mentoned And whereas in the same Indentures, it was provided covenanted and agreed by and betweene all and every the partyes theirunto that it shall and may be lawfull to and for the said S:r Roger Burgoyne at any time or times afterwards during his naturall life by any deed or deeds writings by him signed and sealed in the presence of Two or more credible witnesses or by his last will in writing by him signed and published in the presence of Two or more credible witnesses to revoke or alter all and every or any of the uses therein limitted of all and every or any part of the said Mannors and premisses in the said ffine or ffines other than the use therein limitted to the said Dame Anne for her life for her Joynture and other then such Leases as should be made by the said S:r Roger pursuant to the powers ?refernced in the said Indentures And that then and imediately from and after such Revocacon or alteracon so made as aforesaid All and every the use and uses so revoked or altered of the same premisses whereof such revocacon shall be made shall ?cease determine and be utterly void to all intents and purposes Any thing in the said Indentures to the Contrary notwithstanding Now pursuant to the said power given and refered to mee I the said S:r Roger Burgoyne doe hereby revoke adnull and make void all and every the uses and trusts in the said Indentures menconed Excepting the use limitted therein to my said wife for her life for her Joynture and excepting such other Estate and Grants of the premisses as have at any time beene made by mee pursuant to the power given mee by the said Indentures

ITEM I give to my daughters Anne Burgoyne the elder and Judith Burgoyne Twelve hundred Poundes a peece To be paid at their respective dayes of marriage or ffower and Twenty yeares which shall first happen And ffifty Pounds a peece yearely for their maintenance to be paid quarterly till they shall receive theire said respective portions I give to my sonn ??Simon the like summe of Twelve hundred Pounds in discharge of the marriage Portion which I am bound to pay to him upon the agreement of marriage with my daughter Mary together with interest for the forbearance of the same to be paid at his age of One and Twenty yeares if within a certaine time limitted in certaine Articles of Agreement betweene us he performe the said Articles and deliver up the Bond I have given him for the like summe I give to my daughter Elizabeth and to Ann my youngest daughter One Thowsand Pounds a peece at theire respective ages of One and Twenty yeares or dayes of Marriage which first happen I give to the Child wherewith my wife now goeth if it shall prove a sonn Two Thowsand Pounds at his age of One and Twenty yeares If a daughter One Thowsand Pounds at her age of Eighteene yeares if shee shall then be married otherwise at her age of One and Twenty yeares or day of marriage which shall first happen And in the meane time I give to each of my children Excepting my son John which are of the age of Twelve yeares and upwards ffifyty Pounds by the yeare for theire maintenance And to such as are under that age fforty Pounds by the yeare till they shall atteine theire respective ages of Twelve yeares And from thence forward ffyfty Pounds
