goods to be transported in the said shipp to haver de Grace for the said respective
accompts, which hee knoweth being master of her and seeing the said goods soe
laden and being privie to the buying of them by the said parties, and lading his owne
himselfe, And saith that this deponent and all the said other claimers aforementioned
were and are hollanders and subiects of the States of the United Netherlands and
for such commonly accompted, saving he said Chirurgeon is of Aken in Germany
and Stephen Croyansen a ffrench man borne, but longe lived at Madenblick.
And saith the said producents were and are the owners of the said respective goods.
And otherwise hee cannot depose.
To the Interrogatories. [CENTRE HEADING]
To the first hee saith hee hath bin master of the said shipp about a yeare
last, being as long as shee hath sailed being a new shipp, and that hee
was borne and hath alwaies dwellt in Madenblick and otherwise
hee referreth himselfe to his foregoeing deposition and saith that the said ffolkert
one of the boyes is his wifes brother.
To the second hee saith hee hath knowne all the said claimers about a yeare and
some of them much longer, and otherwise hee referreth himselfe to his foregoeing
deposition.
To the third hee saith hee bougjht and paid for his said goods with is owne
money, and that his company of his knowledge bought and paid for theirs
with wages that hee paid them and with the proceeds of some goods that they
carried thither, and saith they were and are reall owners of the said goods
And otherwise hee referreth himselfe to his foregoeing deposition.
To the fourth hee saith they had the said goods in their owne possession before
the said lading of them, And otherwise hee referreth himselfe to his foregoeing deposition.
To the 5th hee saith they were at Marseille about two monethes before the said
lading of the said goods, and otherwise referreth himselfe to his foregoeing
deposition, and saith the goods that yeelded the said proceee were tobaccoes, cheese
onyons, and otherthings and that their wages were therein alsoe laid out.
To the 6th negatively.
To the 7th the said sope is of the make of Marseille.
To the 8th negatively saving as aforesaid.
To the 9 and 10th hee saith hee had two bills of lading and a charterpartie
aboard and a manifest of lading and a letter aboard at the time of the seizure
which came to the hands of the Captaine of the Preston that tooke her, and hee beleeveth
the papers nowe showed him were alsoe aboard, and in the custodie of his
precontest John Boulin the Sopra cargo, but hee this deponent doth not knowe
of their being aboard, nor doth hee knowe of any torn, throwne over boarde
or otherwise made away or concealed saving as is mentioned in his deposition in the [?proparature] taken at Portsmouth. And otherwise hee cannot answer.
