Biographical synthesis
George Meade (b. ca. 1600; d. ?). Mariner.
"He well knew the shipp Isaack and was carpenter of her the voyage in question".[1]
Resident in 1658 in Plymouth in the county of Devon.
Evidence from High Court of Admiralty
Fifty-eight year old George Meade deposed on March 22nd 1658 in the High Court of Admiralty.[2] He was examined on "Interrogatories for perpetuall remembrance of the matter touching the shipp the Isaack whereof William Thomas was Master, and her ladeing cast away by meanes of a certayne shipp called the Saint Jacob (whereof John Clason was Master) her running fowle upon the Isaack at sea".[3]
