Evidence from High Court of Admiralty
Forty-four year old John Wheelwright deposed on November 21st in the High Court of Admiralty. He was examined on an allegation on behalf of Thomas Browning in the case of "Thomas Browning master of the shipp the ffortune and Richard Hasleton against Joseph Tilley and others, owners of the same".[1]
John Wheelwright stated that he was a member of the company of the ffortune from July 1654 until March 25th 1655. Thomas Browning was the master of the ship.[2] The ship went on a voyage from London to Sally on the Barbary coast and to other ports before returning to London.[3]
