All for the sayd John Mexia de Herrera his owne proper use and Accompt
to be carryed and transsported from therre in the sayd respective shipps to
Ostend in Fflanders upon the sole Adventure of this the sayd John Mexia de
Herrera and there to be delivered to himselfe or his Agents for his use
and Accompt the premisses this deponent knoweth to be true by the declaracion
of the sayd John Mexia himselfe at Cadiz whom he knoweth to be the true
of the sylver as aforesayd, and standing upon the shoare or Strand
att Cadiz where he save the money and plate laden on the respective shipps
as aforesayd, putt into severall boates, and saw the boates arrive at the sayd
shipps respectively and att theire retturne saving the papers of weights
wherein the sayd Masters acknowledged to have recoyned and taken
aboard their respective shipps the moneys in manner above
specified. And he further saith that the sayd John Mexia de Herrera
together with the deponent shipped himselfe in the St. George aforesayd
to come along in her from Cales to Ostend and was in her together with
this deponent at the time of seizure by the parliaments shipps. And
further he cannot depose.

about the beginning of October 1652 did depart and set sayle from Cales
towards Ostend and in their course thither moore the Downes were taken
and surprized by some of the parliaments shipps and brought up to this port
of London, And saith that att the time of the sayd surprizeall the aforesayd severalle
and respective parcells of money sylver and other goods were and remainde
aboard the sayd respective shipps, and by meanes of the sayd seizure came
into the possession of the Takers, this deponent being aboard the St George
att the seizure aforesayd and having in her sayled in Company with the other
Shipps into or were the Downes as aforesayd.
