Examined on an allegation given in and admitted
on behalfe of the sayd John de Richards Sieur de Kargonell/
Rp. jus
Robert Bonden of the parish of Saint Mary Magdalen Bermondsey
in the County of Surrey Mariner aged thirty five yeares or
thereabouts a wittness sworne and examined saith and deposeth
as followeth videlicet./
11. To the first second third and 4th 5th and 6th articles of the sayd allegation hee saith that
12. the three bayles of limon non in controversie were brought donne in a boate

18. and put aboard this deponents shipp the merlaix merchant marked and
19. numbered as in the margent and a noate brought with them diverted to
20. this deponent desyring him this deponent to receive them on board the sayd
21. shipp. but there was noe name subscribed to the sayd noate whereby to
22. expresse from whome it came, and this deponent did receive them on board
23. this sayd shipp and conceiving and beleeveing them to bee sent by the arlate
24. ffrancis Twenchpaine the younger for that were marked with the same
25. ˹marke˺ which hee well know the sayd twenchpaine in former voyages did use to
26. marke his goods ˹with˺ which hee laded aboard this deponents sayd shipp, And
27. saith that after the sayd three bayles of limon were soo laden aboard this deponents
28. sayd shipp, the sayd Trenchpaine came to this deponent and desyred this deponents
29. to goe with him to his the sayd Trenchpaines lodgeing in Merlaixe aforesayd
30. to signe bills of ladeing for the sayd three bayles of limon, and this deponent
31. thereupon went thither with him and signed three bills of ladeing of one and
32. the same tener for the sayd three bayles, and saith that the sayd bayles were laden
33. aboard the sayd shipp and bills signed for them before the Eleventh day of March
34. last past and that in the sayd bills delivered to the sayd trenchpaine all
35. three of them in the sayd Trenchpaines lodging, and alsoe saith that every
36. of the sayd bills were left blanke, and it was not exspressed in them (when
37. they were soo figuare) that they were for the Risque or Account of the arlate
38. Lewis disormeaux or any other person what soever, nor that they were to
39. bee delievered heere in london to the arlate John Tufton or to any other
40. person what soever, but the same were left blanke ˹as to both these perticulars˺ soo that it was in the
41. power of the sayd Trenchpaine after they were soo signed by this deponent
42. tp put in any persons name as the person for whose Accompt they were laden,
43. as also any persons of limen did properly belonge to the arlate John de
44. Richards Sieur de Kargonell and Master Amme x Guillamo his wife as lawfull
45. Owners and Proprietors of them for that the sayd John de Richards Sieur de
46. Kargonell did on the sayd eleventh day of March last past ˹together with the sayd Trenchpaine factor˺ came on board this
47. deponents sayd shipp in the River of Merlaix and did demande of this
48. deponent the sayd three bayles of limen and told this depo the sayd de Richards
49. told this deponent that the sayd bayles were his and that the sayd Trenchpaine
50. had agreed with him to and his sayd wife to pay them for the same one
51. xxxxxxx xxxx within three weekes or a moneth after they soo delivered them
52. to him the sayd Trenchpaine, and that hee the sayd Trenchpaine had ˹not˺ paid him
53. the sayd de Richards and his wife according to agreement, and that there fore hee
54. the sayd de Richards was to have the sayd three bayles delivered back to
55. him to bee disposed of as hee the sayd de Richards should thinke fitt and showed
