Transcription

To the 7th hee saith that hee this examinate did not see the interrate William
ffooke at Cyprus whilest the Thomas Bonadventure interrate was there,
And further cannot depose, not being present at any such discourse as is
interrate./

To the Interrogatories brought in the 15th of december 1654:_ [CENTRE HEADING]

To the first Interrogatorie hee saith it concerneth not this rendent:-

To the second hee was not at Leghorne in the moneths interrate:-?

To the third hee saith, That hee this rendent was not present at the delivery of
the goods in Controversie. And further cannot depose//

To the fourth and schedule interrate hee saith hee hath no knowledge thereof./

To the 5th hee saith hee knoweth nothing thereof further or otherwise, then hee
hath formerly deposed/:-

To the 6th hee saith, That there were two English Merchant men besides the
Thomas Bonadventure, which came from Cyprus in Companie with the Convoy
interrate to Zant and Porto Longoone being bound for England, and saith
the said two shipps, videlcet the Mary Rose and Richard and William discharged
their lading at Porta fferrara yogether with the said shipp Thomas Bonadventure.
And further knoweth not/

To the 10th negatively for his part./

To the 11th hee saith the Thomas Bonadventure interrate was and is an English
built shipp, and so farr as this rendent observed being severall times aboard her
both her Master and Companie were Englishmen, and that shee was mounted
or armed with about 24. gunns, but how many men hee knoweth not/

To the 12th hee saith That it was and is ordinarily and usuall for Merchant shippsd
coming out of Turkey for their better security gainst Tripoly and french men
of warr to ioyne in Consortshipp and that without any dishonor or disparagement
so farr as this rendent hath ever heard or observed./

To the 13th hee saith, That hee this rendent hath understood that the interrate
shipp the Imployment did in or about the moneths of July August or September
1652. come laden from Cyprus and arrived safely at London, and beleeveth
that at the time of such her passage there was very great danger of and from
the said men of warr of Tripoly, ffrance and holland, and as much danger
as when the Thomas Bonadventure came from Cyprus as aforesaid./

To the 14th hee referreth himselfe to his foregoeing deposition And further cannot
depose.?

To the 15th hee referreth himselfe to his foregoeing deposition:

To the 16th hee saith hee knoweth nothing thereof./

To the 17th and 18th hee saith hee hath not deposed to the articles interrate./

To the 19, hee saith hee this rendent hath made foure Voiages into Turkey
upon his owne accompt as a Merchant and not otherwise, And is not
versed in transactions passing between Merchants ffactors and Masters of
shipps concernimng Charterparties or Protests, and therefore cannot depose/
